Topics included:
Foundation:
Algebra – simplifying, factorising, expressions, formulas, functions, rearranging, sequences, inequalities, quadratic equations, simultaneous equations and proofs
Number – Multiplying and Dividing (including decimals), LCM and HCF, fractions, decimals and percentages, rounding numbers, estimating, powers and standard form.
Graphs, Probability and Statistics – Coordinates and midpoints, straight line graphs (equation of a line), quadratic graphs, real-life graphs, tree diagrams, Venn diagrams, mean, mode, median, range, pie-charts and scatter graphs.
Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change – Direct proportion, inverse proportion problems, compound growth and decay, unit conversion, speed, density and pressure.
Shape, Area, Angles and Geometry - Pythagoras Theorem, Sin Cos Tan, Loci and construction, bearings, volume, perimeter and area, perimeter and area of circles.
Higher:
Pythagoras and Trigonometry: The Sine and Cosine rules, 3D Pythagoras, 3D Trigonometry and Vectors.
Geometry and Measure: Circle Theorems, surface area, volume, interior and exterior angles, areas of sectors and segments, and rates of flow.
Probability and Statistics: Tree diagrams, sets and venn diagrams, mean, mode, median, range, box-plots, cumulative frequency, histogram and frequency density.
Algebra: Manipulating surds, rearranging surds, quadratic formula, completing the square, algebraic fractions, sequences, inequalities, simultaneous equations and proof functions.
Graphs: Straight line and gradients, quadratic, solving equations through graphs, distance-time and velocity graphs.
During the individual days we will be:
- Looking at exam technique
- Completing past papers
- Exploring time management
- Highlighting and resolving common mistakes
